    Charlottesville is an Unexpected Wine Lover’s Paradise

    Winemaking has a rich history in the Charlottesville area.  It is a history that dates all the way back to Thomas Jefferson bringing Italian winemaker Phillip Mazzei to Virginia in the 1770s.

    Charlottesville area winemaking underwent a revival that began decades ago with the establishment of the Monticello American Viticultural Area (Monticello AVA).  The award-winning success of the vineyards and wineries in the Monticello AVA has put Charlottesville on a map with some of the most famous winemaking regions in the country and the world.

    The rich history of wine making that has been carried through to today means that the Charlottesville area is a paradise for wine lovers anywhere.

    Many of our clients remark to us about the wealth of vineyards and wineries in the area that they can visit for tours, tastings, or other special events.  Some of our clients have even moved to the Charlottesville area specifically because of the wine industry here.

    Now, people around the country are starting to take notice of all the wine industry has to offer here in Charlottesville.  Buzzfeed recently published a very extensive profile of the Charlottesville wine industry in which they called the Charlottesville area a “wine drinker’s paradise.”
